my experience with immersion blenders all do an excellent job of mixing up the broccoli and broth to make a broccoli soup rich or to transform the grated potatoes, leeks and cream Vichyssoise or make the smoothie in the morning. If I had to use the Blender up to do those jobs, I wouldn't do those jobs. too much clutter. as well as every immersion blender with cable ... I've owned, the latter works fine. as a plus, unlike with some bits do not get stuck on the immersed part of Blender. well done. What is a constant aggravation to me with these products is the chopper attachment. often want to grate or cut just a little something ... --a bit too much for a hand grater (I love the Kitchen Aid model, though), not so much out of necessity a bulky food processor and wash all the accompanying parts. the problem is that while the immersion Blender can be very well made and sturdy, the mini-chopper is often exceptionally, cheaply produced and do not last long. At all. make no mistake--the mini-chopper included with this Blender is also plastic. but it has two advantages compared to others I've owned (and broken and could not replace): plastics are of much better quality, and there are only three parts instead many parts inexplicable: the lid, the bowl, the blade. chop, rinse, put away. no tiny bits of [sigh] fall in the disposal or right into the chopping Bowl while you're chopping board.
